- Travel to the BVI and Cooper Island
Several major airlines provide service through San Juan, Puerto Rico
to Beef Island (EIS) (Tortola). An alternative is to fly to St. Thomas, U.S.
Virgin Islands and then either catch a commuter flight or take a ferry to Tortola.
A passport is required for BVI entry.
Regular ferry service is available from Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook on St Thomas to Road Town and West End, Tortola
several times each day. Direct boat service from St Thomas to Cooper Island via
Water Taxi
is also available (but very expensive). Guests should plan on
spending the first night of their visit on Tortola, departing for Cooper Island the next day.
This allows time for shopping and/or provisioning before catching the
scheduled Cooper Island boat (see below). There are a number of good
hotels on Tortola. The
Hummingbird Bed & Breakfast or Maria's By the Sea are good choices convenient to the marina. Please contact either resort directly to determine
current availability. Additional general information about the BVI's is
available through our Links Page.
